I'm very excited to offer this book in our Remember When Shop!
When it comes to nostalgia, it doesn't get any better than this. As a kid, I'd often buy "The Eagle" weekly comic and for Christmas, I'd get the "Eagle" Annual.
Eagle was the comic for boys, imported from the UK, featuring all sorts of stuff for inquisitive minds and an adventurous spirit. Dan Dare, the greatest comic strip of all time, was on the cover every week, there were models to build, diagrams of war machines, battle ships and so much more.
This book is designed to look and feel like a genuine 1950s Annual with the best of the Eagle comics. From Dan Dare, Pilot of the Future to PC 49, Harris Tweed Extra Special Agent and Jeff Arnold in Riders of the Range, The Eagle carried numerous strips right from its launch in 1950 through to the sixties. The fourpence-ha'penny weekly also featured plenty of sports coverage and the famous 'cutaway' diagrams of battle ships, steam trains, light aircraft, etc.
The Eagle Annual of the 1950s is drawn from the vast Eagle archive and features the strips as well as individual drawings/artwork, original advertisements but with a present-day narrative. It's a brand new book but made to look old.
It's an amazing trip back to childhood with the comics, illustrations, stories, photos, DIY projects and so much more. A terrific gift idea for any Dad or Grandpa.
I have imported a small number of 'The Eagle Annual 1950s' for the Remember When Shop.
