“Every photograph and memory reproduced here is a window to the Melbourne I remember. And to the Melbourne I forget.
There is golden nostalgia within these pages.” Steve Vizard
Melbourne Remember When is full of beautifully sentimental memories – all contributed by over 200 regular readers and followers of my Facebook pages ‘Melbourne Remember When’ and ‘Australia Remember When’.
Childhood memories of the Coles Cafeteria, elephant rides at the Zoo, Waltons Department Store on Bourke Street, the Palais Theatre, the Palais de Danse, the Melbourne Cup, Buckleys & Nunn, the ladies’ lounge, the Block Arcade and so much more …
Melbourne Remember When is unashamedly nostalgic, more than 250 pages and over 200 photos and recollections, lost treasures of a bygone era. It’s a pictorial reminder of a different generation, of beach pavilions and ballrooms, of stately old buildings, department stores that are long gone, old trams and trains, legendary personalities, magic moments in sport, serials on the wireless, black and white TV, family cars and holidays, rock’n’roll music and so much more!
Looking at the photos and stories on these pages, there is a sense of simpler days and less troubled times.
Come and share this walk down memory lane and rediscover and celebrate your life’s journey in the Melbourne of your youth.

Lovely presented book with lots of memories about Melbourne and thankyou for signing the book
I brought all of the books having lived in Melbourne and Adelaide.
I loved the pictures and wealth of information and stories in the books.
Some things have remained in my memory since childhood, but I was surprised and delighted with the flood of memories that returned while looking through these books. Sweet memories of bygone days and more innocent times. Thank you so much!
Great books looking forward to giving them as gifts. Quick delivery
Wonderful memories of visiting Melbourne as a young girl from the country, it was a very long journey back then with a lunch stop on the way of packed sandwiches and cakes and of course the thermos of tea.I have Australia. Remember when as well .
I absolutely love these books, I hope one day that there is a book done for the 1980's.
