Loved the book all about the 60s as they were the years I grew up from 13 to 23 into my married life in 1968.
Most pages made me smile as I remembered the things that happened along the way.
I was originally attracted to the book as I was a marching girl from 1959 to 1968 and I marched at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Empire games in Perth in 1962. Was hoping there would be more about that era but I could relate to everything that was written.

I bought this and the one about the 60s for my mums birthday. She has recently been diagnosed with dementia and had to move into aged care and told me she had sore eyes from so much reading the first night she took these home. Made my mum so happy 💚💚💚

A most informative book. Being able to compare the social, political and social life in 1954 to that of today, is a real eye opener. I could not be more impressed with the effort made in producing this publication.

born in '49, and schooled in the 50s, the book brought back happy memories. The Flicks (cheap baby sitting for parents working on Saturdays) at Ranswick Ritz 9penny downstair 1/3 upstairs, choc top and choo choo bar or Bobby. Kids in calipers at primary school, milk prefeect, the smell in sunmmer of the milk, and the cane for organising marble game bets. Loved the 50s, and soon to read the 60's.

It is so lovely to see pics and remember the names as you see them of products l knew. I wish there was a book on Gerlong and tbe area. More on tbe lollies we had and tbe beaches we parked on tbe front off.. Portarlington! I too had a wonderful childhood. I have some Morphy Richards products as Mum had a Morphy Richards iron! Things in Qld were a bit different from my upbringing. But 85% of the book l cd relate too. It was interesting to read of where products started out too! Very enjoyable book! I was born in the mid 50s. Been so lucky to have grown up then. So harsh a life now!

Thankyou for this great book. I have not read it yet but have looked through every page I love the pictures and am looking forward to reading it . I have bought it for my son’s 50 th birthday and I am sure he will be amazed. I can totally recommend this as a special gift.
