Great present..

A most informative book. Being able to compare the social, political and social life in 1954 to that of today, is a real eye opener. I could not be more impressed with the effort made in producing this publication.

I brought this for mother in laws Birthday in March she absolutely loved it.

It’s ok interesting, would have been better with a few photo put in .

I love history and that would include photos of those eras! It was written in a block style with no flow. So much has missed the mark and I bought one for each of my 5 siblings. Much smaller than I envisaged too but that didn’t overly bother me.

Hubby is very pleased with the book. In the process of reading it atm.
This is the 2nd book I have bought, and the other recipient was very happy with theirs too.

Lots of interesting information. Disappointed there weren’t any photos within the book for the events. This would greatly improve the book.

Size of book was smaller than anticipated and print large. Not as much content as had I hoped considering the cost of the book. No photos or original articles are included within.

Disappointed no photos

Excellent book. I was born in June 1954. Both my parent wrote in my baby book the song that was playing on radio the day I was born " The Happy Wanderer".

I bought this book for my hubby’s 70th birthday

I bought this as a gift and was quite disappointed that there were no photographs at all in the book. The size was also disappointing and I think both of these issues should have been clearly stated in the advertisement.

I bought the 1974 book for my son's 50th birthday and saw the 1954 one for a close friend. I think it's wonderful and it brings back so many memories and it's interesting to see what happened the year you were born.

As I'm entering my 8th decade, I have had a reflective time and in my quiet space, many memories have been flowing through my mind. And a small quote I read that I really love. 'When an old person dies, a library dies with them' This has played on my mind, and I am thinking of writing down 'my library' as I'm sure my very young grand children may want to know about Nanna's life after I have gone. I have un answered questions that no-one alive has answers too. The answers died with my Dad.

I love these books. And the people I have gifted them to tell me the same, it is interesting to know what was happening in the year of your birth, or some other such significant year in your life. They are skilfully researched and put together.

It was just brilliant being able to read about special events that occurred in your year of birth.
